Massage FAQs
Massage has loads of great benefits, but if you're unsure what to expect in your first treatment, read my Massage FAQs to alleviate any tension on the topic.

What Are The Benefits Of Massage?
Massage has loads of great benefits, the physical benefits being release of tension and muscle aches, improved circulation and stimulation of the lymphatic system.
Often overlooked, are the mental benefits too, an increased sense of relaxation and well being, dedicated time for yourself, and reduction of cortisol (stress hormone) levels.

What Happens During The Treatment?
After a discussion about what you are looking to achieve from the massage (relaxation, work on specific 'problem' areas etc) I'll explain how I need you to prepare for the treatment. I'll leave the room for a few moments in order for you to get ready. When I return, I shall carry out the treatment, your modesty is considered throughout (I have a 'tent' trick with towels if I need you to turn over). Once the treatment is complete, I leave you to get your things back on, hopefully feeling relaxed, refreshed and revitalised!

Can I Have A Massage Whilst Pregnant?
Unfortunately, pregnancy massage is not something I offer, although other salons may provide this service from your second trimester.

Do I Need To Talk During The Treatment?
It's your treatment, so I usually take the lead from my clients, some like to chat, some want to make the most of some quiet time. Please don't feel any pressure to make small talk if you would prefer to be silent.

What If I Fall Asleep or snore?
It happens more often than you think, and I take it as a compliment that I have helped you to relax. Most people naturally wake towards to end of the massage, but if you haven't I'll gently wake you.

How Often Do I Need A Massage?
It depends on your individual physical and emotional needs- and also budget!
It can range from weekly to monthly to have the most benefit.
