Eye Treatment FAQs
Want to try tinting for the first time, or have no idea what a lash lift is? Read my Eye Treatment FAQs to find out which treatment is right for you.

What Are The Benefits Of Tinting?
Tinting enhances your natural lashes and brows by adding a colour (tint) to them, much like when you colour your hair. If your lashes or brows are fair, greys are appearing, or there are 'sparse' patches, tinting can help achieve a fuller appearance.

How Would I Know What Colour To Have?
At your first tinting appointment we will discuss what look you are wanting to achieve. Often I can go for a lighter shade or leave the tint on for less time, to make sure the colour isn't too intense, and can always re-apply and left for longer if a darker colour is required.

I Have Had a Patch Test For Tinting/ Lash Lift At Another Salon, Do I Still Need One With You?
Yes. There are many different brands of tints and lash lifts on the market, so you may have been fine with one, but could react to another.
things like medication, pregnancy and vaccinations can also effect whether you react to a patch test, so if there has been any change to your medical history I would recommend having another patch test.
A patch test is only valid for 6 months, so if it has been longer than that since your last tinting/ lash lift treatment a new patch test would need to be performed.

How Long Do The Results Last?
For standard tinting, I find clients return every 4-6 weeks depending on their natural hair colour effects how long the results last.
A lash lift can be carried out a minimum of every 6 weeks to avoid over processing the lash, but many find it lasts longer.

What Does It Feel Like?
Overall, I would say tinting and lash lifts are quite a relaxing treatments. Your eyes are closed and (unless you're having an eyebrow shape) there is nothing painful or uncomfortable involved.
Occasionally tint can get in the eye, which can sting slightly, but once I have thoroughly removed it, the sensation stops.
It's usual for the eyes to be slightly blurry immediately afterwards, so I recommend removing contact lenses before the treatment and bringing your glasses.

Can I Have Tinting or Lash Lift Whilst Pregnant?
Once you are in the second trimester, we can do the patch test and if there is no reaction can go ahead with the treatment.
Occasionally hormone fluctuations during pregnancy and breastfeeding can effect the results of tinting or lash lift treatments.
Always follow any advice from your medical practitioner or midwife.
